Worldwide, almost one in two women between 20 and 60 doesn't like what she sees in the mirror. Dr. Borriello interviewed as a reference expert on the most modern techniques.
During 2013, Dr. Alfredo Borriello, director of the Plastic Surgery Unit at Pellegrini Hospital in Naples, is interviewed by numerous women's magazines and national publications as a reference expert in plastic and aesthetic surgery.

If sagging is not significant, you can intervene with a non-invasive method that combines laser and radiofrequency to restore tissue tone.
"The treatment works by causing heating of deeper tissues" - explains Dr. Borriello - "The heat produced causes contraction of collagen fibers and stimulates the production of new collagen. Tissues recover tone, sagging recompacts with results that become increasingly significant over time."
To obtain good results, application once or twice a week for 8-10 weeks is necessary. Cost: 120-150 euros per session.
Curves on the waist and hips can be removed with ultrasonic cavitation, a non-invasive, painless method with no side effects.
"The treatment is outpatient, without anesthesia and without recovery time" - comments Dr. Borriello - "By passing specially shaped handpieces over the area to be treated, ultrasonic energy converges in a well-defined area under the skin and produces a cavitation effect, releasing the fat contained in the subcutaneous layers, which is then eliminated through a natural metabolic process in the days following treatment."
In addition to promoting fat elimination, cavitation improves skin tissue which becomes more compact and corrects capillary microcirculation defects. A cycle involves three to six sessions 15-20 days apart. Cost: 150-200 euros per session.

"The least invasive solution for fuller breasts? Definitely lipofilling" - comments Dr. Borriello - "It's a soft procedure, useful both for reconstructing part of a damaged breast and for adding volume without using implants."
How it works: "It consists of extracting autologous fat through simple syringe aspiration, under local anesthesia, from where it is most concentrated (thighs, buttocks and hips). The fat, treated with a particular form of centrifugation and possibly enriched with tissue growth factors from platelets and a concentration of stem cells from the person themselves, is then re-injected into the breast."
Several sessions are needed to complete the filling process, but after 6-8 months the volume increase is "stable" and very natural.
The limitation of the procedure? "It only ensures moderate size increases and cannot be done in thin women with little fat deposits."

It's called Smooth Shape and it's a technology that dissolves localized fat deposits.
"It's a simple and non-invasive treatment: the doctor places a device on the area that uses two different types of laser and, at the same time, performs a massage on the tissues" - explains Dr. Borriello - "The fat is dissolved by light waves and further broken down with massage."

Defeating orange peel skin without breaking the bank is possible. There are more and more low cost remedies against cellulite that pose as alternatives to more invasive surgical procedures. TGCOM24 discussed this with Dr. Alfredo Borriello.
What's the difference compared to surgery? "The results are not comparable. From a cellulite standpoint, dermaesthetic treatments are more effective. Liposuction, if performed with little skill, can actually lead to irregularities and hollows."
What do you think of creams? "Only a few are really effective. In my opinion, they are a good adjuvant but alone they do not allow a solution to be reached because they are superficial techniques."

Italian guys are increasingly vain. This is shown by the fact that, in the last year, the number of under 30s resorting to surgery to eliminate fat accumulation in the mammary glands has grown by 30%.
"There is gynecomastia that involves an increase in breast and gland volume and one that only concerns a fat deposit in the breast area" - explains Dr. Borriello - "In the first case, the gland is also removed with an incision around the areola, in the second it is enough to eliminate the fat with liposculpture."
Expert advice: eat well and only controlled-origin meat (meat rich in estrogen is under accusation), exercise and don't abuse drugs.

The vacation-surgery combination is very fashionable, but behind the savings that may push one to have surgery abroad, many risks are hidden.
"I'll preface by saying that in many foreign countries there are good and qualitatively advanced professionals and facilities. But the phenomenon of trips for surgery in other countries can involve risks, especially if it's done as an 'all-inclusive vacation trip'. It's an expanding phenomenon, fueled by offers circulating on the internet."
"The greatest risks occur in procedures requiring the use of implants" - warns Dr. Borriello - "Leading companies in Europe provide implants with a 10-year warranty, but this is not the case in other parts of the world."
"I've had many cases" - confirms Dr. Borriello - "A lady who had gone to Brazil to touch up her buttocks paid 1,500 euros and was given injections with unknown material. She came back with pain and lumps on her buttocks. She had to take antibiotics and anti-inflammatories and there are still problems."
"I bought an 'all inclusive' package: trip to Tunisia, 5 days vacation at a 5-star hotel and 2 extra days for breast augmentation surgery. The price, all included, was 3,000 euros. But things didn't go well for me... I started having problems right after returning: pain, fever, swollen lymph nodes. There was an ongoing infection. It took about 8 months to fully recover."
Real savings? "There are savings between 30 and 50% compared to Italian costs. But beyond a certain threshold, saving on costs means having to cut on quality."
